The needlework group continues to meet on the third Monday of each month at 2pm in the Penicuik Storehouse. Needless to say the nature of the activity means we can continue our activities at home and when we meet can see the progress of each others projects. The group gives us a chance to help each other and to discuss any problems we have encountered in any needlework we have tried. We try to visit exhibitions and last year a few of us went to an exhibition of Paisley Pattern shawls in the premises of the The Great Tapestry of Scotland in Galashiels. Those who went were fascinated by the history and skill of the shawl makers. The group gives us the opportunity to meet fellow crafters and share patterns and skills. We continue to donate quilts for Project Linus who supply quilts for children in hospital, fidget quilts for dementia sufferers and also tiny, knitted hats for premature babies.
