The group is quite small and our skills include knitting, hand sewing, machine-sewing, crochet and embroidery (mainly cross-stitch). We continue to donate quilts to Project Linus (an organisation which supplies quilts to children in hospital for them to take home with them) and enjoy sharing thank you letters to the co-ordinator from recipients. We received a bundle of fabric and made two lap quilts together, each making individual blocks. We have discovered a need for small knee-quilts for dementia sufferers who tend to fidget. They incorporate bits and pieces such as zips, buttons and beads for itchy fingers. A donation of such notions has spurred us on to research how to make a quilt which would be suitable as a group project. We share skills and ideas, problem solve together and look out for interesting exhibitions.

We meet every 3rd Monday of each month in Penicuik's Storehouse. 2-4 pm and we can accept more members.
